Friday Faves - My Favorite Things
The fall season makes me feel warm + fuzzy inside, not just because I am bundled up in layers! It’s a season that brings necessary change from the hot summer months to the cooler fall days. The leaves turn and there is a fresh, crispness in the air that simply rejuvenates my spirit.
Though I can’t hold onto the fall season forever, there are some other things that bring me such joy all year ‘round.

A good book
One thing that always puts me in a state of rest + relaxation is a good book. I am currently reading “It’s Not Supposed to be This Way” by Lysa TerKeurst. If you have ever struggled with anxiety or questioning why suffering is allowed in this world, you’re going to want to grab this book! It’s a deep subject, but you will find so much peace within the pages.
Billie Razors
Billie Razors have been such a great find! Billie is a razor subscription that ships to your home so that you don’t have to remember to buy new razors at the store! They are not only affordable but pretty as well! Purchase a kit that includes a razor, razor heads + a magnetic shower mount. You can pick out which color razor speaks to you and even throw in some shaving cream while you’re at it. Billie Razors truly changed the game for me.
Magnolia Journal
Call me basic, but I just adore Chip + Joanna Gaines and the empire they have built. One of my favorite things is my Magnolia Journal subscription! I’ve had it for two years now with no plans of cancelling. The Magnolia Journal is beautiful + inspiring. Filled with recipes, DIY tips, stories of hope, and more…this magazine is not like any other. You truly close the last page feeling refreshed +
inspired every time.
Dirt Cheap
You heard me right, I love Dirt Cheap. What is Dirt Cheap? A secret little spot that until recently, I had no idea existed! Dirt Cheap sells manufacturer and retailer buybacks, closeouts, bankruptcies, overstocks, liquidations, customer returns and out of season goods. So basically, great quality items for an INSANE discount…I am talking up to 90% off of your favorite items from Target. The store gets a minimum of 3 shipments every week so there are always new items to look at. Don’t be intimidated when you walk in though, it looks like a tornado has hit the store but it’s absolutely worth the digging.
Candles
A good candle is a MUST for me in the fall. While I love the Volcano Candle, that does not always fit in my budget. My go-to candles after that are from Bath and Body Works! I have found that their candles truly fill a room with their heavenly scents and you truly can’t beat their fall line of candles…they have even started making candles with essential oils if that’s more your thing!
Not Yo Mama's Lemonade Drink Recipe
Whether you need a drink recipe for a girl’s night, wedding shower, or to sip on by the pool, this fun lemonade recipe is one to serve! Although, it’s definitely not what your mama used to make (the more PG mocktail version is included at the bottom, though).
INGREDIENTS + RECIPE:
2.5 cans of Corona or another light beer of choice
1 cup of vodka
1 can of frozen pink lemonade
Mix + serve! Garnish with lemon slices + mint.
Mocktail version: sub 1 liter bottle of ginger ale + 1 bottle of unflavored sparkling water for the beer + vodka. Still include 1 can of frozen pink lemonade.

I don’t remember what life was like before owning our Sous Vide precision cooker. This french-style of cooking let’s you control the temperature your food is being cooked in so that you don’t have to worry about over or under cooking your meal. This is a MUST when it comes to cooking for a large group of people.
Instant Pot
The Instant Pot was a wedding gift that we never knew we wanted or needed. If I had known that this little pressure cooker made the best wings on this planet, I would have gotten one sooner!
Cast iron pan
A cast iron pan is a definite must…some of the best salmon I have ever had the pleasure of eating was baked on this type of pan. We love them so much that we have purchase multiple pans in various sizes. The key is knowing how to properly clean the cast iron so it stays perfectly seasoned!
Laser Thermometer
A laser thermometer that doubles as a dog toy? Yes, please! We love pointing the little beam of red light across the floor and letting our pup chase it around. He gets his energy out and we get food cooked to the perfect temperature…everyone wins!
3 Ways to Repurpose a Floral Crown

Candle Wrap
Add a little pop to your candles by wrapping your floral crown around the candle.
Planter Wrap
Just like the candle, add a pop of greenery to your planters by wrapping the crown around a potted plant.
Mini Wreath
Lastly, add a bow to your floral crown and hang it from an antique window for an added touch of farmhouse style to your house.
Crispy Salmon Salad
INGREDIENTS:
Center cut salmon of choice
Butter
Spinach
Crumbled feta
1 lemon
Lemon vinaigrette of choice
Honey roasted almonds
Seasonings: Old Bay, lemon pepper + garlic salt
SALMON INSTRUCTIONS:
Slice salmon into 2.5 inch filets
Drizzle olive oil lightly onto salmon
Season generously with Old Bay, lemon pepper + garlic salt
Heat up cast iron pan on medium-high heat
Melt a small slice of butter on bottom of cast iron pan
Once butter is melted, cook salmon filets skin side up on the pan (yes, skin side up…not on the pan, we promise it’s worth it!)
Once the salmon is cooked almost all the way through, flip the salmon once in the pan until fully cooked (approximately 8-10 minutes total)
While still in pan, drizzle fresh lemon juice onto top of salmon
ASSEMBLY:
In a bowl: mix spinach, almonds, feta + vinaigrette to your liking
Plate the salad + serve with slice of salmon on top of the bed of spinach
Boozy Snowcone Recipe
INGREDIENTS
1 cup strawberry sorbet 1/2 pint
1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/3 cup tequila
Juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup ice cubes
INSTRUCTIONS
In a blender add tequila, lime juice, frozen strawberries, ice cubes, + sorbet.
Blend on high power until smooth and slushy-like.
Pour or scoop into serving glasses or paper cone + garnish with a lime wedge.
* For a non-alcoholic version, substitute seltzer water for tequila *

Temperatures are high and while we are working our 9-5 job during the week, we are thinking about being by the water over the weekend with a delicious drink in hand!

With all of those hours in the sun, you have to take care of your skin! We LOVE Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost gel mask because it truly puts moisture back into our skin. You can find these at Target, HEB, Walgreens, CVS, etc.
3. Bathing Suit
A good bathing suit is KEY. But if you’re anything like us, you want a new bathing suit every season based on what your current style is. We found this bathing suit at SHEIN and absolutely love it! They have affordable bathing suits for every body type.
4. YETI Wine Glass
Nobody likes when their wine glass shatters by the pool or when your drinking a chilled rosé and it’s sweating + no longer cold. That’s why we recommend getting a YETI wine tumbler. They come in many colors and you can even purchase a lid for it so you don’t have to worry about bugs sipping on your wine! Not into wine? They have a cup for every drink!
5. Sunglasses
We NEVER invest in sunglasses because we tend to lose or scratch every pair that we have ever owned. That’s why we love shopping at Target - we can find cute, affordable glasses that if we break or lose, we haven’t broken the bank to buy them. We can always go back and grab another pair!
